Materials Technician
About The Position
Formlabs is seeking a Materials Technician to join their team, dedicated to bringing professional 3D printers to designers, engineers, researchers, and artists worldwide. The 3D printing industry is experiencing rapid growth, and materials development is a critical area for innovation, enabling the expansion of their user base and applications. The materials science team collaborates closely with hardware and software engineers to develop and troubleshoot new resins that meet customer needs. The ideal candidate is an inspired, hands-on individual who enjoys working in a lab environment and is skilled at meticulously gathering data to support materials development.
Requirements
- Have at least one (1) year relevant laboratory or material characterization working experience
- Are safety-conscious and ready to actively promote safe behavior & lab operations
- Efficiently document, analyze, and share data
- Able to work in a self-directed environment to prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner
Nice To Haves
- Experience with mechanical characterization of polymers or plastics
- Chemical wet lab or analytical lab experience
- Experience with 3D printing
Responsibilities
- Reliably execute materials characterization testing with meticulous documentation.
- Work with a team of diverse scientists and engineers to carry out experiments and support materials development.
- Effectively communicate status updates and results to the team.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
