About The Position

AUI Inc. (AUI Power) is seeking a skilled, self-motivated, and dependable team player to join our team as a Materials and Facilities Support Lead. This is a critical support role responsible for enabling construction projects by ensuring field crews have access to required materials, tools, equipment, and facility support when needed. The Materials and Facilities Support Lead also supports the operational link by anticipating needs, coordinating logistics, and resolving issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • 3+ Years’ experience in material management, ideally within the construction or utility industry
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of electrical components, construction materials, and procurement workflows
  • Ability to employ critical thinking skills to resolve inventory and personnel-related problems, including but not limited to inventory discrepancies, billing discrepancies, specification inconsistencies, storage limitations, operational inefficiencies, scheduling difficulties, etc.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of personal computers, software and browser-based applications. Current software packages frequently and extensively used include smart-sheet, Microsoft Excel and Word, Vista software, AS8, and multiple browser-based applications
  • Must effectively communicate with project management and purchasing staff, inter-departmental customers and suppliers. Communications must be efficient and timely to keep all informed of issues and pertinent activities that affect them
  • Good attention to detail skills required, without succumbing to analysis paralysis.
  • Experience in inventory and materials control procedures
  • Familiarity with project management tools, inventory systems, and ERP platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret project drawings, specifications, and material plans
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time‑management skills
  • Ability to travel to remote or active job sites as needed
  • Must be willing to be on 24-hour call; must be able to be at the Warehouse within thirty (30) minutes after receiving a call
  • Strong work ethics, displaying initiative, adaptability, and integrity
  • Works independently with minimal supervision
  • Work 40+ hours per week to include during inclement weather, holidays, and/or weekends as needed
  • Willing to work overtime, travel long distances on short notice for storm and/or emergency events as needed
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, and kneel on a regular basis
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting high‑voltage transmission, distribution, or substation projects
  • Understanding of construction scheduling tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, AS8)
  • Knowledge of federal, utility, or client‑specific material compliance requirements
  • Awareness of environmental regulations related to materials handling, storage, and disposal
  • Forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead material planning, and coordination across multiple job sites to support construction schedules.
  • Oversee receiving, inspection, and inventory control for project materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain and update material tracking systems to ensure availability, accuracy, and traceability.
  • Support in facility maintenance and warehouse set-up and organization standards.
  • Direct delivery drivers and warehouse technicians.
  • Monitor stock levels, reorder points, and material usage to prevent shortages, delays, or overstock situations.
  • Ensure all materials meet project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.
  • Manage warehouse operations, onsite material staging, and overall yard organization to maximize efficiency.
  • Track and document all material and equipment transfers, including rental assets.
  • Work closely with project managers, estimators, field supervisors, and vendors to maintain clear communication and prevent bottlenecks.
  • Support a culture of accountability, accuracy, and safety across the entire material‑handling process.
