We are seeking an experience Materials Supervisor with expertise in Epicor (Kinetic preferred) to oversee inventory control, purchasing, and material flow to ensure efficient production operations and accurate inventory management. This role leads the materials team, collaborates across departments, and manages supplier relationships to support company goals in quality, cost, and delivery.

Requirements

  • Previous procurement or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret metrics, financial data, spend reports, and budgets.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor Kinetic preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capable of working independently while contributing to overall team success.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds throughout the day.
  • High school diploma or GED required; 2–4 year degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily materials activities, including purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and cycle counting.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through effective cycle counting, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Monitor and resolve inventory discrepancies; identify root causes and implement preventive actions.
  • Oversee purchasing functions — review requisitions, issue purchase orders, solicit quotes, and identify delivery schedules within company standards.
  • Evaluate and manage supplier performance, ensuring quality, reliability, and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate physical inventories and maintain an effective locator system for all parts and materials.
  • Ensure timely material availability to meet production schedules; expedite orders as needed to prevent delays.
  • Monitor purchasing activity to prevent excess inventory and ensure materials are ordered in alignment with actual production needs.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to address material or supplier issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support Lean and 6S initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards, company policies, and safety requirements.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to materials staff (2-4 direct reports) to promote accountability and continuous improvement.
