The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Fabrication and Layout (Sheet Metal) Craft Person, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by applying the following skills: Knows and applies the operating principles, purpose, and proper application and design limitations of sheet metal working machine tools used in the production and manufacturing process. Reads and works to the indicated accuracy, specifications and tolerances as detailed on engineering drawings, machine assembly prints, machine construction prints, blueprints, sketches, equipment manuals and vendor diagrams. Works with both U.S. customary and IS (metric) systems of measurement. Sets up and operates a wide variety of sheet metal working machine tools such as: punch presses, power and hand rollers, power and hand brakes, power notchers, hand notchers, shears, drill presses, riveters, related hand operated equipment, NC/CNC/MDI Machines, and other similar sheet metal working machine or hand tools. Sets up parts in equipment using appropriate tools and devices for forming, bending, blanking, rolling, extruding, drawing and similar operations. Knows the various finish specifications; sets up and operates equipment and hand tools to obtain sanded or polished finishes as specified.

Requirements

  • Possess a two (2) year technical degree, certificate or diploma (completed prior to start), AND three (3) years of related experience.
  • OR A High School Diploma (completed prior to start), from an accredited institution AND five (5) years of related experience in close tolerance fabrication work.
  • Possess a current and valid Driver’s License
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with small- and large-scale machine assembly and operation including the use of cranes, hoists, machine tools, presses, and alignment equipment.
  • Experience with building fixtures, prototype, short-run, and job shop operations.
  • Experience using one or more CAD/CAM software packages (i.e., Mastercam, Solid works, Siemens NX).
