About The Position

Resource Central is an award-winning nonprofit organization based in Boulder, Colorado, established in 1976. Its mission is to make conservation simple, helping over 1,000,000 people save water, conserve energy, and reduce waste. The Materials Reuse Sales Associate plays a crucial role in this mission by helping families divert millions of pounds of building materials from landfills. This is achieved by accepting donated building materials and reselling them at affordable prices. The position involves providing outstanding customer service to patrons, assisting them with inquiries and finding materials, maintaining a clean and orderly sales yard, organizing inventory, and supporting volunteers.

Requirements

Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds and follow safety protocols.
Able to work outside in all types of weather.
Passionate about conservation, or a strong desire to learn.
Must pass and maintain a valid background check if offered the position.
Friendly and a fun attitude are a must.

Nice To Haves

Home improvement and construction knowledge are a plus.
Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Deliver friendly customer service to customers via in-store purchasing, phone, and email inquiries.
Greet and provide assistance to all patrons with a positive attitude.
Accurately work the cash register/point of sale system.
Organize materials throughout the yard and showroom.
Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds and follow safety protocols.
Able to work outside in all types of weather.

Performs other duties as assigned.
