About The Position

As a Materials Procurement Buyer with the Wireless Semiconductor Division (WSD), you will support tactical and strategic procurement activities in our fabs located in Fort Collins, Colorado. This position comes with a broad and rewarding set of responsibilities and cross functional procurement support for new process and product development in conjunction with existing technologies. You will be working closely with other buyers, engineering, and other groups to source new materials for new products and processes as well as support materials for existing manufacturing requirements. You will serve as the conduit between Broadcom and key suppliers managing the day to day communications and troubleshooting, leading Supplier Relationship Management with key suppliers, performing supplier evaluations and audits, and ensuring stability of material supply.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field with 8+ years of Experience
  • Chemical/Gas procurement expertise highly valued
  • Enterprise resource planning experience with Oracle or SAP
  • Strong presentation and communication skills at various levels of the organization
  • Progressive Executive-Level Exposure and Interaction
  • Strong PC and Microsoft Office skills. Experience with Google Workspace a plus
  • Strong Project Management skills and/or Strong Process Development skills are a key differentiator
  • Contract Management and Negotiation experience is a key differentiator
  • Proficient data analytic and troubleshooting skills
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment and to deliver results
  • Track record of self-motivated learning
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork skills and ability to deliver results within a team environment
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US required

Responsibilities

  • Manage the identification, access, acquisition, and sustainable supply of designated commodities as well as manage the relationship with the supplier of assigned commodities and back-up commodity support as defined by management.
  • Development, negotiation and management of contracts and price schedules, conducting supplier reviews, audits, issue resolution and overall supplier management as well as On Time Delivery and supply Risk Mitigation.
  • Procurement buyers must interact and maintain relationships with Logistics, Operations, Finance, Engineering (Process and R&D), Equipment Engineering (Maintenance Technicians and Equipment Engineers), SCT (Facilities) and Materials Engineering.
  • Support current and new technologies to develop current and alternate suppliers, act on opportunities to minimize total cost of ownership, mitigate risk and establish performance metrics to achieve the best long term sourcing decision for Broadcom.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service for internal partners including ownership and communication of market trends and conditions to minimize any manufacturing disruptions and optimize productivity.
  • Supplier management including supplier validation and onboarding to ensure financial viability and good manufacturing practices, troubleshooting and issue resolution, maintaining corrective action documentation, facilitating meetings, monitor supplier performance in addition to conducting TQRDCE supplier evaluations.
  • Execute competitive terms including price, responsiveness, quality and guaranteed supply utilizing procurement and analytic tools such as negotiation strategies, financial and risk assessments, total cost of ownership, should cost models, market assessments and end to end supply chain evaluations for respective commodities.
  • Forecast spending and judiciously purchase commodities while balancing forecast commitments, demand changes, and emergent operational situations in a highly competitive and changing marketplace while looking for ways to optimize and challenge the norm.
  • Provide inputs and solutions regarding new commodity opportunities, industry trends, and sources. This includes a strong knowledge of the industry supply chain and how it impacts WSD’s current and future requirements.
  • Schedules, procures, and coordinates deliveries of materials to support the 24/7 operations in accordance with requirements/objectives, and plans.
  • Proficiency on all aspects of Oracle including PO, Transaction, Inventory, etc., will be required in addition to related tasks such as invoice resolution.
  • Interaction with various components of the MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) is required. This may include PDCA, Lot Starts, Fab Reports, Monitor Request, SQCS, Chemical Lot tracking, and Incorta.
  • Work closely with Finance to monitor and track budgets and forecasts including shipment forecasts, cash-flow forecasts, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment, continuous improvement and challenging the norm is required to remain competitive.
  • Active participation in departments annual and monthly planning processes and conform to Broadcom’s Standards of Business Conduct and procurement policies.
  • Provide back-up support across the Procurement Organization as defined by management.
