About The Position

The Buyer is responsible for researching and purchasing goods and services for the Company. Core responsibilities include analyzing market trends, finding and evaluating suppliers, managing inventory, and ensuring timely, quality deliveries.

Requirements

• Prefer previous experience in Supply Chain Management or related field
• Minimum of 1 to 2 year of purchasing experience is preferred
• Previous purchasing in an automotive manufacturing environment is a plus, especially with stamping/ steel
• Prefer bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field
• Strong Microsoft Office Skills
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while also supporting a team

Responsibilities

• Manage existing suppliers of raw materials, purchased parts, and outsourced services.
• Responsible for the procurement of goods and services by preparing purchase orders and sending them to suppliers
• Work closely with suppliers to develop a mutually beneficial, long-term relationship
• Compare prices, specifications and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers
• Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback
• Source new suppliers and products as required
• Manage all aspects of special orders and necessary communication
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery of products to meet inventory needs
• Coordinate with Accounting to ensure accurate invoicing and payment processing for purchased items
• Maintain and update supplier information
• Participate in inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies
• Analyze costs to understand and evaluate supplier competitiveness
• Communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations, identify risks and escalate issues when appropriate
• Collaborate with department heads determine procurement needs and ensure operational needs are achieved
• Support product planning and engineering projects
