About The Position

Join the team making the company's vision come to life. The Materials Planner is responsible for PO execution through PO receipt for the assigned category to support the production schedule. Serves as the execution arm to Planning by having daily, open communication with suppliers while supporting downstream finished good planning and production schedule stability. Identify and escalate material disruptions in a timely manner for remedy. Responsible for reporting materials OTIF and root cause analysis as well as lead team updates. This role is responsible for open communication with Supply Planning, Operations, Procurement, and suppliers. As such, will partner with the Senior Supply Planning Manager to solve front line issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in materials planning, purchasing, or other Supply Chain planning area
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively engage others as necessary to resolve issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Detail oriented with high attention to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions on daily tactical tasks and support strategic initiatives
  • Ability to remain calm, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Proficiency in manufacturing MRP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel - Intermediate, PowerPoint, Word) required

Responsibilities

  • Manages an efficient MRP process for assigned categories within respective portfolio
  • Recommends process improvements and innovative solutions to support achievement of goals as related to suppliers and materials
  • Monitor raw and packaging material inventory to achieve optimal performance levels and mitigate shortages or supply gaps through data interpretation, planning parameter management, distribution footprint and taking necessary action
  • Prepare monthly rolling and annual purchasing forecasts of raw & packaging materials to suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Evaluate monthly supply plans and mitigate exposure to excess inventory cost and waste (SMOG)
  • Drive decisions & trade-offs to optimize the supply plan and communicate to stakeholders
  • Create and manage POs to support production schedule and follow up with suppliers as needed to ensure timely delivery
  • Highlight material shortages that will impact the schedule as identified
  • Master data ownership & compliance for assigned categories
  • Assist in reconciling invoices and receiving transaction discrepancies
  • Measure, analyze & communicate supplier's delivery performance (OTIF)
  • Participate in regular Executive Business Reviews to provide perspective on suppliers' capacities, reliability, and improvement needs
  • Identify options to drive resolution to supply/inventory risk & escalate to the Senior Supply Planning Manager
