Summary The Material Planner serves as the primary liaison between the company and its material and component suppliers. This role is responsible for ordering inbound materials, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and ensuring a continuous flow of product to the production floor. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and skilled at building strong supplier relationships to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Material Planning & Purchasing - Create and manage Purchase Orders using system‑generated inventory data to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent production interruptions. - Ensure a consistent flow of materials to the manufacturing line while avoiding excess inventory, overbuying, or waste. - Conduct research and perform hands‑on inventory checks to validate material needs and accuracy. Supplier & Logistics Coordination - Maintain strong communication with suppliers to ensure timely responses, accurate order fulfillment, and issue resolution. - Partner with logistics providers to secure on‑time deliveries and resolve transportation or scheduling challenges. - Perform root cause analysis and support corrective actions for supply chain disruptions or material shortages. Cross‑Functional Collaboration - Work closely with operations, production, and other internal teams to align material availability with production schedules. - Communicate key performance indicators, material risks, and supply chain updates to management. Continuous Improvement & Workplace Standards - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to Health, Safety, and Environmental programs. - Support and uphold 5S standards within the work area to promote organization, efficiency, and safety.
