About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking a Materials Management and Transportation Manager for its Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Fulfillment team in Everett, WA. This role involves managing and integrating employee activities across materials management and transportation, specifically in a delivery customer service capacity. The manager will develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, set operational goals, acquire resources, provide technical management to team members, and lead process improvements. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, as well as providing oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. The position requires a self-motivated and driven individual capable of working various shifts, including 1st shift (5 am - 1:30 pm) and 2nd shift (1:30 pm - 10 pm), Monday through Friday, with potential for weekends, holidays, and scheduled/unscheduled overtime. The selected candidate will support operations factory, shipping/receiving, material handling, expedite, warehousing, and serve as the Supply Chain contact for off-shift customer support, leading a team of hourly, represented team members. This is a Level K management position.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Motivated self-started who can work independently and has demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders such as sales, success, product management, and senior leaders
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift (Must be able & willing to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays; mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree
  • 5+ years of experience demonstrating exceptional business, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • 3+ years leading critical projects
  • 5+ years of experience with Supply Chain, Supplier Management, and/or Procurement practices and processes
  • 5 + years of experience with materials planning or inventory control process role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with safety and quality processes
  • Aerospace or manufacturing experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a role that involves strategic planning and risk identification
  • Demonstrated ability to create shared vision and translate into strategy Implementation
  • Demonstrated capacity to proactively and quickly makes sense of complex issues; responds effectively to complex and ambiguous situations; communicates complicated information simply
  • Experience expediting products through a production system to meet emergent customer demand
