This is a specialized position, and our ideal applicant has considerable experience ensuring the plan can happen by securing and managing materials within a manufacturing environment. Job Summary: The Materials Control Planner ensures timely availability of raw materials and components to support production schedules. This role focuses on inventory accuracy, material flow, and coordination with procurement and production teams to prevent shortages or excess stock.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in materials planning or inventory control in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels for raw materials and components.
  • Coordinate material requisitions and transfers to support production schedules while ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements..
  • Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.
  • Track open purchase orders and expedite as needed to avoid schedule disruptions.
  • Work closely with the Production Planner to ensure materials are available and production schedules can be executed without delays.
  • Maintain documentation for material transactions and inventory adjustments.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for material flow and inventory accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure efficient flow of materials for production to operate efficiently.
