GENERAL SUMMARY: The Materials and Procurement Specialist is responsible for executing all aspects of the materials lifecycle at their site, including procurement, inventory management, internal distribution, shipping/receiving, and supplier coordination. This role ensures timely parts flow to support MRO operations while maintaining accuracy, cost control, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of combined inventory, procurement, or shipping experience (aviation preferred)
  • Experience sourcing aviation parts and/or supplies
  • Proven material management and supplier interface experience
  • Solid ERP and Excel proficiency; ability to analyze inventory and margin data
  • Familiarity with freight systems and basic contract/vendor management
  • Self-starter capable of managing materials functions independently at a satellite site
  • Ability to obtain and retain an airport AOA badge
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure parts and materials to meet maintenance needs and achieve a minimum margin threshold per work order and per part
  • Place purchase orders within goal time of the parts order sheet or TransOp submission
  • Receive and process all incoming parts, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance
  • Fulfill internal part movement requests and manage supply room stock levels
  • Conduct monthly cycle counts and support full-year inventory accuracy targets (≤1% variance)
  • Actively reduce in-stock inventory by reviewing usage, adjusting min/max, and removing obsolete items
  • Ensure freight billing accuracy and contribute to achieving target freight recoup rate
  • Maintain traceability and control of serialized and regulated components
