About The Position

The Material Specialist will be responsible for accurately accounting for material by unloading material, verify and log, stock/pick and transport material utilizing a forklift throughout the facility to the appropriate locations as required in a timely manner without compromising safety and quality. Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or storage yard
  • Ability to be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to be certified and operate a forklift, 4500 pounds and over
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Material Handling experience
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English language
  • Advanced computer skills (Oracle, MS Excel, Shipping Tools or another warehouse management system)
  • Be able to read engineering drawings, Illustrated Parts Books, and Service and Product Bulletins
  • Capability to actively work on multiple tasks at the same time
  • Strong verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Certified in crane and rigging operations
  • Minimum one year experience with barcode scanners
  • Experience with lean action work-outs

Responsibilities

  • Maintain received WIP inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in stock and recording location of inventory.
  • Utilize technical expertise and engine knowledge to accumulate and process parts to ensure configuration accuracy and engine on time delivery
  • Ability to interpret Receiving & Shipping Documents, Repair Tags, Services Bulletins, etc.
  • Support AM Mod X and AM OH Modules
  • Un-package parts to ensure they are not damaged in transit utilizing power tools
  • Support material activities and problem solving through advanced usage of Oracle, and warehouse management systems
  • Communicate status of pending parts with the Material Coordinators
  • Work diligently to alert the broader team to any material shortages that have the potential to delay any job for customers
  • Communicate with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates of scheduled work
  • Ability to interpret Illustrated Parts Breakdown, Smart Shop, and Service Bulletins.
  • Coordinate and track parts credit returns and reallocations
  • Collect data, run reports, track, and communicate status daily.
  • Perform material-handling equipment pre-use inspections for safe operation and delivery.
  • Support regular cycle counting activities including root cause analysis of issues
  • Great attention to detail while working to a deadline.
  • Self-starter, positive attitude, work well with others, and strive to implement continuous improvement projects.
  • The ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload.
  • The ability to perform job duties with a sense of urgency and focused on safety and quality.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills in English.
  • Train new employees as required.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and requests
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
