RTX Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) is seeking a Material Program Manager (MPM) with demonstrated project management skills who will be closely accountable for ensuring supplier performance. The MPM must be a self-starter, capable of achieving organizational and program goals, and able to successfully interface with varying levels of management. The MPM is accountable to overall supplier management, performance and success and is the interface between Supply Chain, the Program Office/Integrated Product team (IPT), supplier, and other functions working on various contract lifecycles. This role is responsible for executing supply chain strategies and ensuring organizational and program objectives are achieved. This opportunity is for an MPM within the Air $ Space Defense Systems (ASDS) portfolio, DAPS business unit in Tucson, Arizona. The ideal candidate will have project management skills and be directly accountable for ensuring overall execution of materials management. Key responsibilities include supplier material management, material forecasting, ensuring cost and schedule and quality requirements are met, supporting Estimate at Completion (EAC), creating and managing metrics to monitor GSCM health, supplier engagement activities, successfully managing competing priorities, and acceleration activities. The MPM will have the opportunity to lead projects, manage budgets, and resolve issues and conflicts. Our supplier network spans small to large businesses, IOT (Interorganizational) partners, and major subcontractors that manufacture high-level assemblies, a range of commodities, and materials varying in complexity. In this fast-paced and dynamic environment, you must be able to possess excellent time management/prioritization skills, strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), and the ability to work well in a matrixed IPT environment.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in program/project management, supply chain function, operations, procurement and/or material management role
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working directly with suppliers
  • Experience in desktop computing tools (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project)

Nice To Haves

  • Supply chain experience in the defense industry
  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager for Material Estimate at Complete EAC and Material Forecasting
  • Experience in finance, business or performance analysis, and/or accounting
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) certification or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with program and partnering functions to ensure successful supplier management and execution in support of program needs and requirements in support of EAC review, and Execution Gate activities
  • Support planning, execution, and reporting of material budgets, schedules, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) commitments
  • Use critical thinking skills to propose sound and innovative business solutions to increase operational efficiencies to ensure business area and program success
  • Must have the capability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Process information from multiple sources to achieve a successful outcome
  • Execute supply chain strategies by overall ownership of the supplier management process including supplier performance, supply chain metrics, and communication of customer flow through requirements
  • Identify/Generate material risks opportunities in alignment with program execution and proactively manage mitigation/capture plans
  • Work closely with IPT: Engineering, Quality and Operations to support program budget and schedule and resolution of product non-conformances
  • Support by providing input on slides and files during team tag-ups and daily/weekly program meetings
  • Participate in weekly supplier engagements to ensure required performance is met
  • Obtain MPM Certification Level 4 within 1 year of employment
  • Assist procurement with supplier Request for Proposals / Quotes (RFP’s / RFQ’s)
  • Travel up to 15% domestically as required
  • Complete MPM Level 4 Certification within 12 months of hiring date
