RTX is a provider of SkillBridge Fellowship opportunities for transitioning service members to gain an in-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense business from some of the most respected leaders and engineers in the industry. SkillBridge fellows will not be eligible for any compensation during their fellowship, as they will continue to receive all military pay and benefits. To be eligible for a SkillBridge, you must meet the following requirements: Must be on Active-Duty orders in the U.S. Armed Forces Must be eligible to participate per DoD Instruction 1322.29. Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date. Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.

Requirements

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Supply chain experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • DoD Clearance: Secret
  • Active and existing security clearance required on day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Supply chain experience in the Aerospace or Defense industry.
  • Experience with tactical application of strategies to programs.
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) certification or equivalent.
  • Working experience as a Cost Account Manager.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement, Six Sigma or Lean methodologies/principals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive Supply Chain support for Gates 0-11 activities and ensures IPDP compliance for the programs and tailoring when applicable.
  • Test equipment strategy and procurement management
  • Owner the supplier management process including supplier performance, Supply Chain metrics, international issues, Make/Buy Where strategy, strategic agreements, and communication of customer flow through requirements such as FAR/DFARS, ITAR, offset, public law, quality, warranty, etc.
  • Develop and lead supply chain proposal activities including task descriptions and bases of estimates.
  • Develop and execute risk/opportunity plans to meet program objectives.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for small business participation.
  • Be a member of the program office that participates in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Operations to create a schedule based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Monitor and proactively act to address performance and financial metrics including those related to cost, schedule, quality and EVM.
  • Responsible for financial tasks related to material including developing and tracking budgets, targets, working capital, initiating & maintaining accurate sales forecasts, short-range outlooks (SRO), material EACs, sales and operating Plans and Annual Operating Plans (AOP).
  • Act as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for material and SCM labor.
  • Flow down Program Requirements and Supplier Management Best Practices to suppliers which include risk mitigation and subcontract management plans.
