About The Position

We are seeking material planners who will play a critical role in managing the flow of materials and ensuring that production schedules are met efficiently. This person will collaborate closely with various departments to optimize inventory levels, improve demand planning, and support overall production goals. The ideal candidate for this role possesses strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management processes and has experience working with automotive production schedules, MES Scheduling Solutions, just-in-time (JIT), and sequencing methodologies. Requirements

  • Experience in material planning and procurement within the automotive industry including hands-on experience managing sequence automotive schedules (866)
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing material flows in alignment with sequence-based or just-in-time production schedules.
  • Proven experience working with automotive production schedules, MES Scheduling Solutions, just-in-time (JIT) and sequencing methodologies.
  • Understanding of the supply chain management process and an ability to develop a strong understanding of production processes and capabilities, how data is captured and used internally to make decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate with coworkers, customers and suppliers. Build rapport and develop alliances; adjusts communication style to meet the needs at various levels within organization.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail. Reliable and diligent with the ability to work efficiently w while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. In lieu of degree, equivalent years of relevant experience and training will be considered.
  • Must be a US Person as defined by ITAR/EAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or any individual who is granted status as a “protected person” . Under the export control regulations, a “U.S. person” (22 C.F.R. § 120.15; 15 C.F.R. § 772.1) is someone who is: 1) a U.S. citizen (whether born or naturalized); 2) a lawful permanent resident of the United States (e.g., “green card” holders); or 3) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. (e.g., political refugees, political asylum holders, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain material plans based on sequence automotive schedules (866), ensuring materials are available in the right quantities and at the right time.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to align with sequence-driven production requirements, avoiding shortages or overstock situations.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to adjust material plans in real-time based on sequence schedules and production changes.
  • Release materials and components from supplier according to sequence schedules, ensuring suppliers can meet just-in-time delivery requirements.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure material availability aligns with sequence production schedules and just-in-time needs.
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams, facilitating communication to resolve any issues related to sequence scheduling and material flow.
  • Ensure all materials and processes comply with automotive industry standards and customer-specific requirements (e.g., JIT, Kanban, or sequencing requirements).
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, deliveries, and material inventory, tracking compliance with sequence schedules.
  • Provide regular reports on material procurement and inventory status in relation to sequence production schedules for senior management.
