The On Wing Support DFW Material Plan & Execution Manufacturing Specialist, based in Fort Worth, Texas, will be responsible for coordination & management of work task assignments and priorities towards daily/weekly milestones as it relates to Materials and Logistics operational rhythm. This role will act as an intermediate bridge between balancing strategic and tactical demands; providing engagement in material forecasting as well as hands-on support for the team that supports coordination, demand, and fulfillment of all critical material flow (including from/to external vendors, GE Commercial Spares, and within the repair and overhaul network) according to production schedules for success of the business. This site performs maintenance on GE/CFM commercial aircraft engines in the field and in shop. As such, the Material Plan & Execution Manufacturing Specialist will work in conjunction with the rest of the DFW Materials Leadership Team to coordinate and drive the daily/weekly materials & logistics fulfillment functions and associated inventory strategies to successfully execute Gate 2 processes (repair and kitting cycle) through the rest of Materials Team, and the technicians, production and planning team at the shop. This person will assist as needed in planning and at times expediting material according to the production schedule. Positive working relationships with the team of technicians and customers through outstanding customer responsiveness is critical to the success of the business. Applicants must be familiar with warehousing and inventory management techniques and will also be exposed to and work within the regulatory obligations of a FAR-145 Repair Station. Job Description Role and Responsibilities : The OWS DFW Material Plan & Execution Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for the tactical operational flow and daily task management as it pertains to movement of hardware within the building and to and from vendors. They will execute direction within the materials discipline and also oversee, manage, and coordinate the transactional tasks in SAP associated with the movement before and after the hardware is allocated and issued to the job. These transactions include the borrow and loans process as well as book-keeping all the transportation costs. GE On Wing Support is a 24 / 7 / 365 operation. Applicants must be willing and able to support calls during off-hours when emergency situations arise. In addition, the On Wing Support DFW Material Plan & Execution Manufacturing Specialist will : Work to resolve materials issues to support OWS site with strong sense of urgency. Actively align with Materials Leadership & partner with Production Leader in production planning and provide inputs from materials perspective. Keep Materials Leadership and Production Team informed of status constraints and escalate issues when necessary. Practice effective task management strategy that assures critical Materials functions while still supporting shop operations. Help to manage inventory and participate in process and cost improvements initiatives. Analyze data to determine training opportunities to decrease single point failures, improve customer service levels, and reduce overall waste. Perform routine analysis of frequently consumed part numbers and respond with effective action for kitting and bundling opportunities. Manage and oversee customer-owned materials related task compliance. Work in partnership with repair engineering to identify opportunities for material recovery. Oversee (and create as needed) order demands for specific instances in SAP. Consult & communicate most efficient inventory and ordering strategies within Team (min/max, visual management, kitting, etc.) and implement. Coordinate, manage, and oversee warehousing efforts and standardize processes physically and within the ERP system – receipt, incoming inspection, storage, packaging, inbound/outbound logistics, etc. Understand import/export/ITC requirements and apply appropriately. Create/oversee/advise Commercial Invoices for parts/tools/materials coming into or going out of the facility. Serve as site liaison for hazardous materials and dangerous goods movements. Comply with safety requirements, complete training per schedule, participate in investigations and read-across as requested, promptly identify safety issues, work with team to pursues solutions, and escalate issues. Specific focus includes use of powered industrial equipment, hazard material movements, and dock operations. Participate in assessments, read across and PFMEAs to identify and understand sources of defects. Promptly identify and escalate risks to leadership and work with team on solutions. Participate in LEAN events and apply learnings to daily activity. Apply and improve upon standard work in area of responsibility. Identify sources of waste and Customer dissatisfaction, escalate to Leadership team and work among the team to find solutions. Oversee / Allocate inbound and outbound transportation costs to associated shop visit notifications in CTSI. Find and exploit cost-savings opportunities. Liaison across multiple departments include both the internal team and customers to ensure seamless service. Deliver “all-hands on deck” support for AOGs (Aircraft On Ground) as they arise. Lead and coach a group of salaried and other salaried professionals to achieve many of the above-listed goals Availability to work flexible shift patterns as required, including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability and willingness to support calls during off-hours when emergency situations arise Ability to lift 50 lbs.
