About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, performs routine manual tasks in moving and storage services for all departments, including but not limited to, transporting materials and organizing storage areas. Maintains the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and appearance of our facility.

Requirements

  • Has knowledge of proper moving and storage techniques.
  • Has ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
  • Is organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.
  • Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices.
  • Maintain competency in the position and knowledge of trade/industry advances and new technologies.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of staff, residents, and guests.
  • Preferably has a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or can apply for one within 20 days of hire.
  • If above driving duties apply, has current, valid driver’s license. Driving record must meet the criteria set forth by Royal Oaks’ insurance carrier.
  • If applicable, has a Certificate of Completion for memory care services training or obtains within 30 days of hire and complies with annual certification requirements.
  • Is able to carry/lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
  • May need to operate a fire extinguisher.
  • Is able to assist in evacuation procedures.
  • Must be able to work in all types of inclement weather and perform job duties in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably has knowledge on using iPad or tablet. Training will be provided.
  • Preferably has one year of experience in custodial or housekeeping.

Responsibilities

  • Physically packs/unpacks items exercising extreme care to prevent damaged items in the relocation process.
  • Labels and tags items for accurate identification and tracking.
  • Apply protective materials such as bracing, padding or strapping, to secure items and prevent shifting or damage during transport.
  • Physically moves items exercising extreme care to prevent damage.
  • Transports items between designated locations using manual lifting moving dollies, and hand trucks.
  • May be required to operate and/or drive a vehicle to load, transport, and unload items in support of relocation services.
  • Responsible for set up and tear down of tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, auctions or other events ensuring spaces are arranged according to event requirements.
  • Reports building or equipment repairs to the Facilities department.
  • Attends all meetings as required and assists other departments as needed.
  • May be required to operate/drive a golf cart for the purpose of transporting supplies around campus as needed. This may also include transporting employees, residents and/or guests when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
