Requirements

Experience as a forklift mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic
Direct hands-on work with propane and diesel forklifts (required)
Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals
Valid driver’s license; forklift certification preferred
Comfort lifting up to 50 lbs and working in warehouse/outdoor settings
Attention to detail and strong troubleshooting skills

Nice To Haves

Technical school or trade certification in mechanical repair
Familiarity with multiple forklift brands
Welding or fabrication capability

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance on LPG and diesel forklifts
Identify and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems
Inspect equipment routinely to ensure safe, compliant operation
Service or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other key parts
Maintain detailed service records and maintenance documentation
Adhere to OSHA and company safety policies
Respond rapidly to breakdowns to keep operations on schedule
Communicate repair plans, timelines, and recommendations to the Department Manager
