Operator, Equipment - Material Handling
About The Position

This position involves operating a Railcar mover, sorting cars on tracks for unloading, visually inspecting rail cars, performing air brake inspections, connecting steam lines, monitoring temperature, and unloading feedstock using pumps and control systems. The role also requires cross-training and active participation in the Savage safety program.
Requirements
- Perform basic maintenance tasks
- Basic computer skills
- Attend and pass all training associated with job related coursework. This includes but is not limited to: OSHA, HazMat and FRA related courses
- Willingness to wear required PPE
- Clear drug / alcohol test / criminal background check
- Work experience in an industrial environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Read, write and understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
Nice To Haves
- Rail Industry and/or rail unloading/loading experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Operating a Railcar mover -we provide training and certification
- Using a Railcar mover to sort cars on the tracks to prepare for unloading activities
- Visually inspecting rail cars and performing air brake inspections
- Connecting steam lines to rail cars and monitoring temperature
- Unloading feedstock from rail cars using pumps and control systems
- Cross training and being willing to assist in the different functions performed at the facility
- Participating in and promoting Savage safety program
