About The Position

Position Description The Material Handler transports materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations and performs other tasks pertinent to the department.

Requirements

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Efficient time management skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to lift up to 55 pounds at a time.
• Wear safety gear (such as goggles and gloves) when handling box cutters or similar tools.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) must always be used including safety glasses and safety shoes.
• Safety shoes with composite toe reinforcement required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, distribute, and store products as directed in designated, secure locations.
• Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
• Resolve issues with contractors or vendors when problems arise.
• Prepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
• Review shipments for quality and accuracy and review accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Confirm shipping details or special instructions; expedite shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
• Validate, approve, and forward invoices to accounting department.
• Collect and properly dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
