The Material Handler – Shipping is responsible for safely, accurately, and timely preparing, moving, and shipping materials and finished goods. This role is crucial for daily warehouse and shipping operations, ensuring orders are correctly picked, packed, labeled, and dispatched according to company and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified
  • Basic computer skills for inventory and shipping systems
  • Ability to read work orders, shipping instructions, and labels
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Time management and ability to meet shipping deadlines
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse, shipping, or material handling experience

Responsibilities

  • Stage, and prepare materials and finished goods for shipment
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment
  • Verify shipping documents, packing lists, and labels for accuracy
  • Package products according to shipping specifications to prevent damage
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update warehouse management systems
  • Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly
  • Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
  • Keep shipping and staging areas clean, organized, and hazard-free
  • Coordinate with shipping, receiving, and production teams to meet deadlines
  • Perform other job related tasks assigned by the manager
