Your role at Baxter: The Material Handler II is responsible for material handling of inbound and outbound products by verifying that sku’s, lots, quantity and condition of packages are accurate. The outbound process includes picking and staging items in the right delivery sequence according to orders and balancing weight for the appropriate truck. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience using Reach and Sit-Down lifts.
  • High School education or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 65 lbs and frequently walk throughout the warehouse.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet operational demands.
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus (20/40 in both eyes).
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic proficiency in reading, speaking simple sentences, and recognizing similarities and differences between words and numbers.
  • Familiarity with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and strict adherence to them.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with moving reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and exposure to extreme cold and heat.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively communicate and coordinate with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Verify product accuracy for inbound processes, ensuring sku's, lots, quantity, and package condition are correct.
  • Use a Radio Frequency Terminal / Scan gun to efficiently process products throughout the warehouse.
  • Adhere strictly to all regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements, including proper handling of spills, damages, and returns.
  • Safely operate various types of material handling equipment, such as forklifts, clamp trucks, reach trucks, and cherry pickers.
  • Prepare, load, and secure materials for shipment, ensuring proper balancing of weight for the appropriate truck.
  • Receive, transport, and store materials according to established procedures.
  • Placard all loads as required for compliance with government, military, export, and other regulations.
  • Process and stage damaged products following established guidelines.
  • Meet and exceed metric standards set by management to ensure efficient and damage-free product handling.
  • Actively participate in projects and teams focused on continuous improvement in areas of safety, quality, service, and cost.
  • Use warehouse computer applications to effectively handle and track inventory.
  • Inspect trailers and complete necessary documentation accurately.
  • Take responsibility for activating or reviewing temperature monitors on temperature-sensitive products.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the warehouse.
