SUMMARY: Function: Works in the warehouse assisting shipment of incoming and outgoing products and materials, including hazardous waste. Scope: Responsible for transfer and control of products, raw materials, and supplies TOK America - A Subsidiary of Tokyo Ohka Kogyo Co., Ltd. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or previous work experience required.
  • 1 year of warehouse experience preferred.
  • Previous Forklift experience is preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working with chemicals including, but not limited to, corrosives and organic solvents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (both oral and written).
  • Knowledge of common warehouse practices.
  • Willingness to cover for other department personnel in the event of absence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics.
  • Ability to follow instructions in both verbal and written form.
  • Ability to operate shrink wrapping machine.
  • Ability to become certified in all Material Handler activities conducted by the division and cross-trained as seen fit by the Logistics Manager.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift, IATA, DOT, and IMDG hazardous goods certifications.
  • Ability to wear a respirator mask to perform required tasks.
  • Must be able to work overtime as directed by supervisory staff.
  • Must be able to work various shifts as directed by supervisory staff.
  • Must possess a reliable means of transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

  • Transporting products and materials between buildings, inside warehouses, and loading/unloading trucks, utilizing forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks.
  • Safely receives deliveries of raw materials, merchandise products, and supplies at warehouse and completes required documentation accurately.
  • Accurate record keeping for the transfer of all materials including incoming and out-going raw materials, products, and supplies as well as other deliveries.
  • Assist maintenance of inventory control of raw materials, products, and supplies, including completing required documentation.
  • Safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and all other industrial equipment used during all operations.
  • Participating in inventory reconciliation activities including but not limited to daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts.
  • Monitoring inventory of hazardous waste onsite, preparing containers for outbound shipping and escalating issues with labeling or container damage to your manager or relevant team members.
  • Prepare products for shipment, including, but not limited to, boxes, drums, and intermediate bulk containers (totes) containing dangerous goods and chemicals.
  • Adherence to corporate, State and Federal regulations and guidelines when handling hazardous materials or when exposed to hazardous situations. Must adhere to departmental and corporate standard operating procedures.
  • Adherence to TOK America’s manufacturing and logistics methods and SOPs, while maintaining compliance with safety and efficiency standards.
  • 6S related duties such as cleaning and general housekeeping.
  • Adherence to all PPE requirements.
  • Actively demonstrate high levels of employee engagement, coachability (e.g., receiving and incorporating business-related feedback and instruction with a positive and growth-oriented mindset) to achieve desired outcomes, and accountability for personal performance and its impact on others' ability to do their job well.
  • Perform other necessary duties and tasks as requested.
  • Attending annual and/or quarterly refresher courses related to hazardous waste management and handling, IATA/IMDG/49CFR compliance, general safety, quality management, and environmental management.
