Material Coordinator A
About The Position
GENERAL FUNCTION: Uses blueprints and schematics to determine what materials are needed to complete the job assignment, locates that material and has it transported to the work area. Works with warehouse personnel to determine availability of or back log of material. Maintains the proper paper work involved in the receipt and placement of material. Requirements
- Fairly strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of blueprints and schematics along with shipyard terminology.
- Prior shipbuilding experience.
Nice To Haves
- Prior Shipbuilding in the fields of engineering or one of the crafts associated with the use of blueprints or schematics.
Responsibilities
- Review blueprints or schematics to verify what materials and their quantity are needed for job completion.
- Meet with warehouse personnel to ascertain the availability of material in storage or what may be on back ordered.
- Make arrangements to have available material transported to the job site.
- Follow up on back ordered material.
- Maintain paperwork associated with receipt and movement of material.
