In this position... The role is responsible for coordinating the end‑to‑end movement of materials from suppliers to the manufacturing plant, ensuring on‑time delivery, accurate inventory management, and seamless material flow across the supply chain. This includes collaborating with suppliers, production teams, warehouses, and third‑party logistics providers; maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and transportation regulations; resolving shortages and delivery issues; and supporting production planning through accurate forecasting and data analysis. The position also focuses on optimizing inventory levels, improving material‑handling processes, and maintaining precise records of deliveries and stock. Success in this role requires strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, effective cross‑functional communication, the ability to work under pressure, and proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in material control, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in material management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 2+ years of experience managing and developing a supplier base
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP software.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the logistics of moving materials from the supply base to the manufacturing plant.
  • Monitor and track the movement of materials to ensure on-time delivery and proper inventory management.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, production teams, and warehouse managers to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, transportation regulations, and quality requirements throughout the supply chain.
  • Maintain accurate records of material deliveries, stock levels, and any discrepancies.
  • Troubleshoot material shortages or delays and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze material usage patterns and optimize inventory levels to reduce waste and cost.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving material handling processes and workflows.
  • Support the production planning team in forecasting material needs based on manufacturing schedules.
  • Report material status and logistics issues to senior management, providing regular updates and recommendations.
  • Ensure effective communication between departments (e.g., procurement, production, logistics).
  • Evaluate and collaborate with third-party logistics providers for cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and best practices to improve material control processes.
