About The Position

The Materials & Welding Engineer supports the development and execution of engineering projects by ensuring material and welding compliance with industry codes, client specifications, and internal standards. This role works cross -functionally with design, manufacturing, quality, and project teams, as well as external vendors and clients, to ensure material integrity and manufacturing excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience (additional experience considered, especially in subsea or oil & gas)
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Forging processes
  • Heat treatment
  • Mechanical testing methods
  • Destructive and non -destructive testing
  • Experience reviewing:
  • MTRs
  • Manufacturing process plans
  • NDE procedures
  • Welding documentation
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with welding codes and standards:
  • AWS D1.1/D1.1M
  • ASME Section IX
  • API RP 1104
  • DNV (RP -0034, RP -B204)
  • Experience with coating systems (e.g., epoxy)
  • Subsea or oil & gas industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve vendor documentation including:
  • Material Test Reports (MTRs)
  • Manufacturing process plans
  • NDE procedures
  • Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS/PQR) to ensure compliance with applicable codes and client requirements
  • Support and oversee:
  • Forging qualifications
  • Welding procedure and welder qualifications
  • Develop, update, and maintain company material and coating specifications
  • Review client specifications during tendering to identify gaps, risks, and deviations
  • Provide technical support for resolving non -conformances (NCRs) related to materials and welding
  • Participate in client audits, inspections, and technical reviews
  • Collaborate with internal teams (design, manufacturing, quality, project management) to ensure material and welding requirements are properly implemented
  • Promote and ensure compliance with company HSE policies and procedures
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices across the organization
  • Perform other duties as required
