The Revolutionary Technology Programs (RTP) group based at Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works is looking for exceptionally qualified candidates to support and lead cutting edge research in the area of engineered biology and engineered materials (or metamaterials). Here at RTP, our mission is to push the boundaries of what is possible. We apply cutting edge academic concepts and solutions to solve some of the most difficult and critical challenges. Your job would be to both lead new efforts and tasks in these exciting new areas of research, as well as to support work as part of a growing interdisciplinary team. We are looking for someone with a strong background in materials science, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, or a related field and a track record of creative thinking and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. This position is in Palmdale, CA

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience, (or Masters with 3 years’ experience, or PhD) in materials science, physics, chemistry, or related technical field
Hands on fabrication and characterization experience with one of the following: coatings, thin films, polymers, or nanomaterials
Experience with engineered biology or engineered materials
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
Must be a US Citizen

Experience with metamaterial fabrication
Excellent communication skills, as position requires interfacing with internal and external customers to report technical and scheduling status
Strong interpersonal and organization skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
