Who We Want: The primary responsibility of the Master Scheduler is to ensure best practices in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning, and supply planning . In addition, they will have responsibility to data mine, verify, and escalate to ensure the plant has the necessary inventory levels to support production plans to meet safety stock quantities and ultimately customer demand. The Master Scheduler shall ensure that production schedules are created and completed on time, and within budget. They will have responsibility to assist in supporting the Materials Manager to achieve departmental objectives and customer satisfaction through ensuring delivery and production plans are put in place that will minimize if not eliminate production disruptions. Additionally, the Master Scheduler will have responsibility to monitor outside processes and some tier 2 suppliers to ensure on-time delivery to Challenge. What You'll Do: Prepare comprehensive production schedules and monitor production execution to master schedule. Prepare overtime schedules to meet customer demand both in the week and weekend for all departments (Press, Weld, Quality Inspection, and Repack). Coordinate with Program Management and Advanced Engineering groups to manage scheduling and inventory requirements for initial runs. Collaborate with intercompany locations on requirement processing into the master schedule. Maximize on time material availability across plant for all projects and departments. Confirm, follow-up, and expedite planned purchase orders to meet required material delivery dates necessary to meet on-time delivery performance to support production requirements. Track critical parts and develop/execute delivery plans to ensure no interruptions or downtime to manufacturing line. Analyze MRP and production schedules to identify potential material shortage issues well in advance and initiate appropriate corrective action and escalation as required. Monitor outsourced processes to ensure delivery to plants in order to ensure production is not disrupted. Monitor inventory levels at Subcontracted processes and ensure production plans of inventory Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate action Perform ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and high-volume months. Support Inventory management – reporting inventory levels out as required Manage excess and obsolete inventory including bank builds and buildout requirements. Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned. When and Where: This will be a 1st Shift / 7AM-5PM M-F position located at our Plant in Holland, MI. Occasionally, this may require you to arrive early, stay late, or work on weekends, outside of our regular hours, to ensure we successfully meet customer needs, deadlines, or urgent requests.
