About The Position

Job Summary: The Master Scheduler is an impactful role that supports Production Control, Material Planning, Operations and Logistics teams. This role requires someone who understands the full manufacturing cycle and can balance customer demands and delivery requirements. The Master Scheduler will hold stakeholders accountable to dates and execution and proactively address production issues with the team that impact delivery to the customer. This position is a key driver in ensuring adequate inventory is available for fulfillment of customer demand, capacity, load, supply, and demand management for production.

Requirements

  • Understanding of basic manufacturing
  • Strong ability or skill to build/develop a scheduling system
  • Experience with ERP/MRP software, planning material and scheduling production
  • Ability to exercise initiative with sound judgement.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written
  • PC computer skills, with proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3–5 years in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a realistic Master Production Schedule that supports Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP).
  • Regularly update and communicate the Master Schedule, providing guidance to manufacturing operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding capacity planning, production scheduling, shortages, and mid-to-long-term planning.
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and other departments to resolve scheduling issues, including downtime, trials, and bank builds.
  • Coordinate and lead weekly production schedule meetings to ensure alignment across all functions.
  • Review and analyze sales orders, production schedules, work orders, and staffing requirements to determine material and labor needs.
  • Track and report key scheduling metrics daily, ensuring accurate system data entry.
  • Provide production dates and expediting information to Order Management and Shipping teams.
  • Arrange for timely delivery and distribution of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Create, monitor, and continuously improve Kanban systems for inventory and non-inventory items.
  • Revise production schedules as needed due to design changes, material shortages, labor constraints, or other disruptions.
  • Work with internal teams, vendors, and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities, resolve complaints, and eliminate delays.
  • Calculate labor, material requirements, and manufacturing costs using appropriate tools and systems.
  • Follow safe work practices and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Employee Handbook and Local Work Rules. In addition, adhere to the proper Code of Conduct while on company property.
