About The Position

SAS has an opening for a Master Production Scheduler who will work with Purchasing, Sales, Product Management, and Manufacturing to develop and manage forecast for long-range material planning while considering current inventory, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles and production capacity. You will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find suppliers that are more profitable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or a Manufacturing discipline.
  • Experience in a consumer product manufacturing company.
  • APICS certification.
  • 5-10 years of master scheduling experience.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software and tools such as Microsoft D365 or the equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience. Proven ability to provide encouragement, mentoring and leadership to a team.
  • Proven experience with complex planning, forecasting and product lifecycle programs.
  • Proven people skills required, must have ability to work with others while effectively handling internal pressures.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal).
  • Organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and ability to create a team environment.
  • Strong managerial, planning, analytical, communication, decision-making, lateral thinking, project management and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for 8- 10 hours per day with breaks approximately every two hours.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of associates in the scheduling department and work closely with the team to establish production schedules based on sales forecast, plant capacity, and new business opportunities to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Use employees and resources in the most effective manner.
  • Provide rapid responses to production issues.
  • Identify problems and help improve processes.
  • Generate reports and schedules.
  • Ensure that production deadlines are met.
  • Monitor inventory levels and head up physical inventory.
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements within the production lines to enable overall process improvement and lower the cost of doing business.
  • Improve production forecasting tools and procedures through application of innovative ideas and projects.
  • Drive; promote positive communication with revenue and manufacturing departments to improve accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain forecast and master schedules based on history, seasonality and sales opportunities.
  • Develop, lead and execute production strategies.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
  • Review and update forecast and production schedules.
  • Support new product development through cooperative scheduling of model introductions, end of life and prototype processing with the potential suppliers.
  • Assess impact to production schedule from customer sales opportunities that may be affecting demand for the product over and above the plan.
  • Review material shortages, stock outages, and safety stocks levels while working with, Purchasing and Manufacturing to meet customer requirements. Propose changes when needed.
  • Assist in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies.
  • Train, encourage and inspire your team to meet SAS standards while leading by example.
  • Provide performances feedback and coaching regularly to the team.
  • Other duties as needed.
