About The Position

Harkcon, Inc. is seeking a Master Human Factors Engineer to provide Human Systems Integration (HSI) and Human Factors Engineering (HFE) support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Integrated Combat Systems (ICS) Department (V). The successful candidate will support human-centered engineering, systems design, analysis, and evaluation activities within Government research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) and systems acquisition programs.

Requirements

  • Master of Science (MS) degree from a recognized engineering curriculum with a concentration in Human Factors, or
  • Master of Science (MS) or Master of Arts (MA) degree in Engineering Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or a related field with a Human Factors curriculum, or
  • MS/MA degree in Human Factors programs recognized by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES).
  • Twelve (12) years of experience in Government-related Research and Development (R&D), Test and Evaluation (T&E), and systems acquisition programs, and
  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience in at least six (6) of the following areas: 1. Human Factors Engineering Project Acquisition support 2. Human Factors Test and Evaluation (T&E) 3. Platform Systems/Subsystems Integration 4. Human Factors Engineering Program Planning 5. Human Systems Design Studies and Analysis 6. Training Systems Development 7. Conducting Human Factors in Science and Technology (S&T) and R&D both in the laboratory and field settings 8. Tactical decision-making processes, and individual and team performance assessment 9. Workload assessment 10. Reviewing and preparing HSI engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation 11. Usability assessment and design 12. Design of habitability spaces (berthing, messing, galley, etc.) 13. Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH)/OSHA requirements and design 14. Habitability requirements and design 15. Threat assessments and their impacts on personnel survivability 16. Human-computer interaction and graphical user interface design 17. MIL-STD-1472 evaluation and compliance 18. Ergonomics evaluation and compliance, including maintenance accessibility 19. Human research and experimental design
  • Must possess an active or interim SECRET clearance at the time of hire.
