About The Position

As a Marketplace Associate Business Developer, you’ll help expand Best Buy’s marketplace by identifying, recruiting and onboarding new sellers. In this role, you’ll focus on driving marketplace growth by sourcing sellers that align with key product categories and strategic objectives. We are seeking an excellent communicator with negotiation skills and a strong foundation in prospecting, cold outreach and pipeline generation. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience in merchandising, demand planning, e-commerce, marketing, operations, customer experience, vendor management or supply chain
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years in B2B sales, partner marketing, account management or general sales experience
  • 1 year of experience mentoring, cross-functional team management or influencing without authority
  • 1 year of experience communicating and partnering with vendors or 3rd party partners
  • Knowledge of sales or marketing CRM systems such as Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Knowledge of marketplace ecosystems such as Amazon and Walmart
  • Ability to define and consistently measure KPIs and forecasts to support overall financial goals

Responsibilities

  • Identify and recruit new sellers across high-priority categories in alignment with Best Buy’s marketplace strategy and in support of core category teams
  • Develop and pitch value propositions to prospective sellers, highlighting the benefits of joining the Best Buy marketplace
  • Facilitate the onboarding process, working closely with seller support to ensure smooth transitions
  • Collaborate with the seller account manager to identify target categories or segments that require increased seller representation or offer significant growth potential
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of potential sellers, tracking progress from initial contact through to successful onboarding
  • Partner with Best Buy Canada to share leads and identify seller synergies across sites
