About The Position

The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) is dedicated to advancing healthcare by supporting professionals who lead medical practices. Since 1926, MGMA has empowered medical group practices through data, insights, and advocacy to drive innovation and meaningful change. The organization is seeking a Marketing Specialist - States to join its Denver/hybrid team. This role is responsible for executing chapter-level marketing campaigns to support membership acquisition, engagement, and retention. The specialist will leverage a high degree of technical marketing proficiency and execution discipline, collaborating with Association Managers and chapter leaders to deliver effective, scalable marketing experiences across various channels. Key responsibilities include high-quality execution, optimization, and performance reporting, all within a defined chapter strategy, without defining the strategy itself.

Requirements

  • Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of MGMA’s mission, vision, and values/behaviors.
  • Strong working knowledge of marketing execution best practices, including email marketing, digital campaigns, lifecycle communications, and audience segmentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute high-quality marketing campaigns end to end, translating direction and requirements into accurate, timely, and effective delivery.
  • Strong technical proficiency with marketing automation tools, email platforms, and campaign deployment workflows.
  • Ability to build, manage, and execute campaigns using established templates, standards, and processes while maintaining attention to detail and execution discipline.
  • Knowledge of marketing analytics and performance metrics, with the ability to track results, interpret data, and surface insights to inform tactical optimization.
  • Ability to apply testing, experimentation, and optimization techniques within defined parameters to improve engagement and conversion outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Association Managers, chapter leaders, and cross-functional partners as the execution arm of chapter marketing.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a federated or matrixed environment, balancing local chapter needs with national standards and priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate campaign requirements, execution details, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to follow established brand, compliance, and quality standards while exercising sound judgment in execution decisions.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to identify execution risks, escalate issues appropriately, and recommend improvements.
  • 4+ years of hands-on marketing execution experience.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with associations, chapters, or membership-based organizations preferred.
  • Experience operating in a federated or matrixed environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare organizations and practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute state chapter marketing campaigns supporting membership acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Build, deploy, and manage email, digital, and lifecycle campaigns using established tools, templates, and standards.
  • Translate direction from Association Managers and chapter leaders into campaign plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate campaign assets, messaging, and deployment across channels.
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered accurately, on time, and in alignment with brand and compliance standards.
  • Serve as the technical execution expert for chapter marketing, including email marketing, automation, segmentation, and quality assurance.
  • Maintain campaign calendars, workflows, and execution checklists.
  • Apply marketing best practices to improve deliverability, engagement, and conversion.
  • Support testing, experimentation, and optimization within defined parameters.
  • Track and report on campaign performance against defined goals and benchmarks.
  • Analyze results and surface insights for Association Managers and marketing leadership.
  • Recommend tactical optimizations to improve outcomes such as timing, messaging, targeting, and channel mix.
  • Maintain documentation and playbooks to support repeatable, scalable execution.
  • Partner with Association Managers as the execution arm of chapter marketing.
  • Collaborate with national marketing, membership, and technology teams to ensure coordinated delivery.
  • Participate in the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) as a go-to-market execution partner during build, launch, and optimization phases.
  • Support local chapter needs while aligning to national priorities and standards.
  • Perform other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.
