As part of the Sales & Marketing team, you’ll help us solve challenges and succeed as you grow and understand the unique needs of our clients and tailor easy-to-use solutions to deliver the performance they need. With a position in Sales & Marketing, you’ll strengthen our relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, and think outside the box to unlock new possibilities. This role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring 1 - 3 workdays per week in the office at our Schaumburg, IL location and the remaining days remote each week. The in-office days are subject to business needs. Candidates must be able to commute to the office as required. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary. The Marketing Programs Manager is responsible for owning and driving execution of high-priority initiatives across Paylocity’s Brand and Marketing organization. This role ensures that important programs move forward with clarity, quality, and momentum – turning priorities into concrete outputs that support Paylocity’s GTM goals. This is a hands-on role for a strong operator who enjoys doing the work. The ideal candidate brings experience, good judgment, and a high bar for quality, and is comfortable personally owning planning, materials, and follow through for visible, cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of marketing program management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proven experience owning and delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong execution skills with the ability to manage details, timelines, and deliverables without losing sight of priorities.
  • Clear, concise communicator with strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working closely with senior leaders while remaining deeply involved in the work itself.
  • Able to operate in ambiguity and move forward without needing perfect information.
  • Familiarity with B2B SaaS, GTM motions.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day execution of high-priority Brand and Marketing programs.
  • Translate priorities into clear plans, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring work progresses smoothly from kickoff through completion.
  • Personally create and maintain key program outputs such as plans, presentations, executive updates, documentation, and tracking materials.
  • Identify gaps, risks, or blockers early and take action to resolve them so work stays on track.
  • Partner closely with Brand and Marketing leadership to support planning, execution, and follow-through on critical initiatives.
  • Prepare, refine, and maintain high-quality materials for leadership meetings, reviews, and planning sessions, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Ensure decisions and next steps are clearly documented and reflected in execution.
  • Coordinate work across go-to-market to ensure initiatives are aligned and delivered as planned.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of progress, changes, and dependencies, helping teams stay focused and aligned.
  • Drive accountability by clearly defining ownership, timelines, and expectations across contributors.
  • Track progress across active initiatives and provide clear, concise updates to leadership on status, risks, and next steps.
  • Maintain simple, effective processes for managing work so teams can move quickly without unnecessary overhead.
  • Look for practical ways to improve how Brand and Marketing teams execute programs and manage work at scale.
