About The Position

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that elevate awareness of JFCS programs and services, engage diverse community stakeholders, and advance the organization's mission to strengthen individuals and families across the Suncoast region. The Marketing Manager collaborates closely with the development team to align messaging, coordinates donor communications, and maximizes impact with limited resources. This strategic role requires balancing data-driven marketing with compassionate storytelling while maintaining client privacy and dignity. Occasional evening and weekend hours required for events; reliable transportation is necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or related field
  • Minimum five years of progressive marketing and communications experience, preferably in nonprofit, healthcare, or social services sectors
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful integrated marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrated experience with digital marketing, social media management, and content creation
  • Experience in planning and implementing fundraising and other special events.
  • Experience in marketing sensitive services (mental health, healthcare, social services) with an understanding of privacy considerations
  • Strategic thinking and exceptional communication skills to develop data-driven marketing with inclusive messaging for diverse communities; proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms; strong project management of multiple priorities; analytical and creative in problem-solving; collaborative and adaptable; trauma-informed approach; takes initiative.
  • Content Management Systems, email marketing platforms, social media management tools, Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite or Canva, CRM systems (e.g., Donor Perfect), Microsoft Office Suite, basic video editing software.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance in marketing and accessibility standards (WCAG).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Budget Management Develop and manage an annual integrated marketing and communications plan aligned with organizational goals and program needs
  • Create and oversee the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources across digital, traditional, and community engagement channels
  • Develop crisis communication protocols
  • Brand Management and Messaging Establish and maintain a consistent visual identity and brand messaging across all platforms that reflect JFCS’s values of compassion, dignity, inclusivity, and excellence
  • Create compelling storytelling campaigns that highlight program impact while protecting client confidentiality and maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Develop messaging strategies for diverse audiences, including the Jewish community, veterans, seniors, families, and mental health service seekers
  • Collaborate with program directors to translate complex services into accessible, engaging content
  • Digital Marketing and Communications Oversee website management and SEO/SEM
  • Supervise JFCS’s social media presence across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Coordinate marketing automation and CRM tools to nurture relationships with donors, volunteers, clients, and community partners
  • Analyze website and social media analytics to optimize content performance and user engagement
  • Develop email campaigns for program awareness, fundraising appeals, newsletters, and community updates
  • Create and manage digital, electronic, and print advertising campaigns
  • Content Creation and Management Write, edit, and coordinate production of marketing materials, including brochures, program flyers, annual reports, impact stories, blog posts, and social media content
  • Collaborate with independent graphic designers, photographers, and videographers to produce high-quality visual content
  • Develop video content for social media, website, and community presentations
  • Public Relations and Media Relations Cultivate relationships with local and regional media outlets
  • Prepare press releases highlighting program launches and events, impact milestones, and community initiatives
  • Pitch stories to media and coordinate interviews with organizational leadership and program participants (when appropriate and with consent)
  • Position JFCS leadership as thought leaders on issues related to mental health, veteran services, aging, and family support
  • Manage media inquiries and coordinate organizational responses
  • Community Engagement and Partnerships Represent JFCS at community events, health fairs, and networking opportunities to build awareness and relationships
  • Develop strategic partnerships and cross-promotional opportunities with community organizations, healthcare providers, schools, synagogues and churches, and businesses
  • Coordinate outreach efforts to underserved and hard-to-reach populations
  • Maintain community engagement calendar and coordinate organizational presence at relevant events
  • Build relationships with cultural and faith communities to expand JFCS’s reach and impact
  • Development and Fundraising Support Collaborate with the Development Department to support fundraising efforts, donor communications, and grant reporting requirements
  • Ensure donors and sponsors receive appropriate recognition across marketing channels
  • Create marketing materials for fundraising events and campaigns
  • Develop impact reporting and success stories for grant applications and donor reports
  • Support volunteer recruitment and recognition efforts
  • Internal Communications and Team Collaboration Facilitate internal communications to keep staff, board members, and volunteers informed of marketing initiatives and organizational news
  • Train staff and program participants on messaging, public speaking, and media engagement when appropriate
  • Work collaboratively across departments to align marketing efforts with programmatic and organizational goals
  • Provide marketing guidance and support to program managers for their specific initiatives
