About The Position

The Marketing Internship role offers an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a global engineering and equipment manufacturing company serving the steel industry. Our Marketing Intern will assist with various marketing activities, including content strategy and creation, social media management, internal communications, and event planning. This role provides valuable exposure to standard marketing applications, branding strategies/initiatives, and cross-functional teamwork. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and value collaboration. This internship aims to develop practical skills while contributing to SMS group's marketing efforts.

Requirements

Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related business field.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting copy and collaborating with teams.
Technical Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Soft Skills: A self-starter attitude, ability to multitask in fast-paced environments, and strong critical thinking.
Digital Literacy: Understanding of SEO principles and social media algorithms.

Responsibilities

Content Creation: Social media posts, internal articles/newsletters, and website content.
Social Media Management: Manage posting calendar, engage with other SMS entity pages, and monitor performance (LinkedIn).
Internal Communications: Assist in planning and creation of internal communications via Intranet blogs, internal newsletters, and digital bulletin boards.
Document Creation: Assist in updating/creation of product marketing documents.
Event Support: Assist in planning and execution of both internal and external events.
