About The Position

Since 1956, Lewer has served as an advocate for independent business owners who seek to protect what they’ve built and prepare for the future. In 1991, our student division was formed to protect people around the world. Lewer offers a concierge approach to employee and student insurance by providing tailored benefit strategies designed to create healthier businesses, families, and individuals. As a Marketing Intern, you support initiatives that strengthen Lewer’s digital presence, expand audience reach, and enhance communication across social platforms. You assist with content planning, social scheduling, engagement monitoring, and creative development. You contribute ideas, adapt messaging for various platforms, and help ensure all social communication aligns with brand standards. Through this work, you build practical skills in digital marketing, social strategy, and collaborative content execution, preparing you for long term success in social media and marketing roles.

Requirements

  • You hold a degree or are a rising junior or senior, pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, digital media, public relations, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • You demonstrate strong interest in social media strategy and digital communication.
  • You communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats, manage your time effectively, and take initiative in completing assignments.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Adobe is a plus.
  • You embrace feedback, adapt quickly, and show enthusiasm for learning how social media supports broader marketing and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Special Project Coordination & Outreach: You support Lewer’s public relations and communications efforts by coordinating outreach projects that invite people to share their stories and experiences. You help encourage participation, guide contributors through simple next steps, and keep project details organized from initial contact through final delivery. You communicate clearly, stay patient and professional, and help bring meaningful stories to life.
  • Brand & Style Alignment: You help shape and maintain a consistent writing style by supporting the development of a style guide similar to AP guidelines. You proofread materials for clarity, accuracy, and tone, and you may draft case studies or other written pieces that highlight meaningful stories and accomplishments. You take care with language and contribute to a polished, unified voice across all communications.
  • Communication: You write clear, friendly, and well-organized messages, and stay on top of details while managing multiple conversations at once. You enjoy helping people and offering simple, encouraging instructions that make the process easy to follow. You meet timelines and commitments, communicate when things shift, and adapt quickly to new information or needs. You collaborate well with others and are eager to learn more about public relations and communications.
  • Marketing & Communication Efforts: You also support various projects across the marketing department, stepping in where needed to help keep work moving smoothly. You assist with event coordination and preparation, from gathering materials to logistics and ensuring details are in place ahead of time. You pitch in on team initiatives, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and provide reliable support that helps the department deliver polished, on-time work.
