AFS is seeking to fill a Marketing Coordinator role in support of developing, maintaining, and executing complex marketing and customer engagement plans to assist more than 9 million TRICARE beneficiaries. The candidate will work as a member of a cross-functional team to support content management and writing for a target audience that includes beneficiaries, health care providers, customer service teams, and other stakeholders. The candidate will work onsite at Falls Church, VA (3 days per week), directly assisting the onsite Executive Assistant with light administrative duties. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and open to learning new tasks. The work: Support across multiple cross-functional workstreams include TRICARE publications, web, benefit education, and social media. Help develop a variety of educational products that will be disseminated through web, social media, online trainings, and live events. Draft, refine, and maintain a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) across these workstreams to ensure consistency and clarity in team operations. Use online project management software, including Microsoft Lists, to track project activities, training compliance, and team personnel, directly supporting workstream leads and program managers. Assist with project management support activities and corporate functions, such as writing, compiling, and editing weekly, quarterly, and monthly reports that include inputs from across workstreams and program leaders. Content management and writing support includes: Write original content to include articles, web page content, and management reports. Perform audits of websites, publications, and documents that require excellent attention to detail; criteria include validating currency and accuracy of information and aligning content with style guides and business rules. Remediate documents and products to comply with Section 508 accessibility standards. Use website content management systems (including Sitecore) to update webpages. Assist beneficiary education team with reviewing and editing Frequently Asked Questions monthly, Administrative as assigned. Use web-based administrative tracker to manage client task management system. Attend and record minutes during assigned administrative workstream and leadership meetings, to understand the Division’s culture and report any action items to the team. Preparing staff meeting agendas and slide decks. Help manage an internal beneficiary database. Update an online directory of customer support staff across the agency. Complete light onsite administrative duties such as answering phones, checking voicemails and group inboxes, monitoring training compliance, mailing and receiving packages, managing calendars, and reserving conference rooms (10% of work).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1 – 2 years of marketing/communications or content management experience
  • Experience writing content for public audiences (plain language and audience centered writing)
  • Ability to interact with and brief government clients as needed
  • Provide writing samples

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with project management software (such as Microsoft Lists, JIRA, or similar).
  • Prior experience with Section 508 accessibility standards and document remediation.
  • Familiarity with military environment and/or TRICARE
