Our current hybrid approach requires staff to work onsite a minimum of two days each week, every Tuesday and Wednesday, Hybrid staff are also welcome to come in additional days each week or may be asked to come in on other days by their manager. DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW The Marketing & Communications department drives GBH’s brand visibility, audience engagement, and strategic communications across all platforms. We work collaboratively across content, development, and external partnerships to grow awareness and support for GBH’s mission and programs. JOB OVERVIEW The Marketing Coordinator role focuses on coordination and support for marketing campaign strategies at GBH. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Marketing, the marketing coordinator will provide administrative support for marketing campaigns that will connect our audiences, production units, and the greater GBH mission. The marketing coordinator is expected to retain project details and organize that knowledge as part of project coordination. This role is a key player in managing the day-to-day details of the marketing function for GBH, which is the largest producer for public media and is a house of nearly 90 brands. This role serves at the foundation level in the Boston area. Duties include working closely with internal clients and external partners on everything from social media toolkits to partnership deliverables, to managing creative assets and merchandise. A qualified candidate should be organized, a team player, creative, excellent writer and communicator, and aligned with the mission of public media.

  • Role will involve lifting 35+ lbs. (walkabout character costumes, branded signage, etc.)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a marketing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting senior staff with the planning and execution of multi-faceted marketing campaigns, including advertising, print and digital.
  • Coordinating project workflows and timelines across internal teams (e.g., production, digital, editorial, and creative departments) to ensure all campaign deliverables are met on time.
  • Providing administrative support, such as scheduling meetings, maintaining the marketing calendar, meeting agendas, and processing invoices and expenses.
  • Assist with drafting, editing, and proofreading marketing collateral, including newsletters, brochures, website copy, and social media posts.
  • Support with activities related to the management of internal and external merch platforms, including inventory, digital shop maintenance (Shopify), and competitive analysis.
  • Collaborating with graphic designers and content creators to develop engaging visual assets that adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of promotional events and community outreach activities (including evening and weekend opportunities).
