Conexon is a rapidly growing telecommunications company partnering with Rural Electric Cooperatives to design and deploy advanced fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks nationwide. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by delivering reliable, high-speed internet and phone services to Rural America. As we continue expanding into new states and regions, we’re looking for individuals who want to grow with us and contribute to this important mission of transforming rural communities with the power of high-speed internet, mile by mile of fiber to the home. The Marketing Communications Specialist is a full-time (40 hours per week), short- term professional opportunity beginning in May or June and running through August with the possibility of converting to a permanent role. This role is designed to provide hands-on, real-world marketing experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. From day one, you'll gain direct exposure to the planning, creation, and execution of marketing initiatives, contributing to projects such as content development and lead generation campaigns while working alongside experienced professionals across multiple teams. With the potential to transition into a permanent role, this position is ideal for a motivated, creative, and detail-oriented self-starter eager to build practical skills, contribute fresh ideas, and see how strategy turns into results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing fields
  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing or strategic communications, campaign planning, and/or content marketing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Canva
  • Working knowledge of marketing communications
  • Great eye for detail, a creative mind, collaborative work style, and great interpersonal skills with ability to communicate crisply and clearly with a positive attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Solid understanding of social media and digital marketing
  • A strong eye for design
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and collaborate
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills; strong collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Work with marketing leadership to implement strategies for customer acquisition, retention, community building and brand growth, and engagement
  • Create and post social media content for variety of assets
  • Author, edit, and/or proofread a variety of written and visual communications for marketing, operations, earned media, and internal communications purposes and platforms
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders such as sales and third-party suppliers such as designers, videographers, and web developers
  • Support B2B and B2C initiatives including community events, podcasts, webinars and in-person workshops
