About The Position

Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Director, the Marketing Communications Manager will help implement the strategy for communications, website, marketing, media and collateral to consistently articulate NDI New Mexico’s mission while supporting organizational growth in the areas of development, corporate events, brand awareness, attendance, and programs including the Hiland Theater initiative, Activating Hiland. The Marketing Communications Manager will be proficient in marketing project management, public relations and social media, graphic design and print production, photography and videography, and website design and coding. The Marketing Communications Manager is part of NDI New Mexico’s Advancement team.

Requirements

  • Communicate effectively through clear speaking, writing, and effective listening
  • Strong organizational, computer, and smart-phone skills including extended familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and Android, Blackberry, or i-Phone calendaring and emailing skills
  • Three to five years’ experience in graphic design with excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, marketing, HTML
  • Willingness to be flexible and versatile in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Work with Director of Advancement and Communications and Marketing Director, Artistic Director and Director of Operations to create the Marketing and Communications Strategy and Plan and full-year calendar; track progress against plans through regular review of the timeline and keep the Communications and Marketing Director and Director of Advancement informed.
  • With guidance and approval from Communications and Marketing Director and Director of Advancement, help develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing, communications, and public relations functions.
  • Coordinate with all departments to help implement approved communications strategies in order to further student enrollment, community engagement, government, grants and donor relations, stewardship, teacher recruitment, promotion of shows and performances, management of photography and videography, ticket sales, revenue growth and all activities associated with Activating Hiland.
  • Work with Director of Advancement and Communications and Donor Relations Manager to coordinate media interest in the organization and responsiveness to media requests
  • Maintain approved branding for organization throughout marketing and communication materials
  • Manage projects effectively and work closely with team members including making creative contributions and participating in brainstorming sessions
  • Manage email marketing program, lists and schedule
  • Maintain press archive, and uploads items to the website
  • Coordinate Media Buys for NDI with Director of Advancement and Communications and Donor Relations Director and Social Media Manager
  • Manage social media manager role and help determine social media needs
  • Assist in managing and maintaining NDI-NM.org
  • Report out new SEO tactics and website statistics, recommends updates to website
  • Assist in updating and keeping current homepage, info buttons, and visual content/copy on a weekly/monthly basis ensuring relevant content
  • Implement approved strategy for frequency and targeting of communications, managing not only appropriateness of communication to the audience, but also guarding against overload of outreach to constituent groups
  • Coordinate online giving and other fundraising-related web content with development staff.
  • Bring off-message communications to the attention of the Director of Advancement, when needed
  • Project manages and creates all printed material for organization including: Program Book, bi-annual newsletter, gala/event invitations, event logo creation, Dance Barns and Hiland quarterly newsletters, advertising layouts, social media graphics, website graphics, programs for all events (approx. 20), board meetings, door posters, marquee, event signage, gala signage, building plaques, flyers for all programs, stationery orders, appeals, directional signage, manuals, press kits, brochures, T shirts, and misc. design as needed
  • Manages marketing related accounts, contracts and contractors as needed
  • In conjunction with the Director of Advancement and Communications and Donor Relations Manager, maintains coordination of all projects with various department heads.
  • Archive and file all photos for organization
  • Manage & schedule photographers for: main NDI New Mexico performances/events including Dance Barns/Hiland Winter Performance Promotion; ABQ, SF and North Dress Rehearsal for End-of-Year Event; Santa Fe Gala; Annual photos for all ABQ events and committees; Annual Marketing photo shoot; and ABQ, North & SF Celebration Graduates for program book as well as other performances, Activating Hiland initiative and special events as needed.
  • Take photos as needed for other NDI New Mexico fundraising events and activities.
  • Participates on committees as needed.
  • Report regularly to the Communications and Marketing Director and Director of Advancement on progress towards goals
  • Other duties as assigned.
