About The Position

FWI is building a team to grow quality Registered Apprenticeship programs through industry intermediaries by providing technical expertise, sector-based outreach, and program development services to employers across new, emerging, and in-demand industries on behalf of the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Apprenticeship. As a Marketing & Business Development Specialist, you will drive employer outreach, stakeholder engagement, and strategic partnership development to recruit employers into Registered Apprenticeship programs and expand adoption across targeted industry sectors nationwide. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, OR 10+ years of relevant experience without a degree
  • Familiarity with concepts, practices, and procedures related to sector-based outreach, RA program development, and SME support
  • Expertise with the Registered Apprenticeship system, including 29 CFR Part 29, scaling RA nationally, building high-quality career pathways to RA, convening stakeholders, improving processes, and developing partnership strategies
  • Market research skills with the ability to research and develop new opportunities to meet program objectives
  • Outreach skills including contacting potential sponsors, employers, and other stakeholders to establish partnerships and facilitate strategic discussions on the expansion of RA
  • Experience attending conferences and industry events to meet program objectives
  • Ability to educate existing and new stakeholders on the value of Registered Apprenticeship
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Able travel domestically as required

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute outreach and marketing strategies to attract employers, sponsors, and workforce partners to Registered Apprenticeship programs in targeted industries
  • Identify and pursue new business development opportunities that advance apprenticeship expansion goals
  • Build and nurture relationships with employers, industry associations, unions, educational institutions, and other key stakeholders
  • Plan and deliver engaging outreach sessions, informational presentations, and employer engagement events — both in-person and virtually
  • Support high-profile Departmental initiatives including White House-led sprints, challenges, and sector-based Accelerator campaigns
  • Represent the organization at national conferences and industry events to promote the value of apprenticeship
  • Educate prospective and existing partners on the benefits, sustainability, and return on investment of Registered Apprenticeship
  • Connect employers with available financial assistance and incentive funding to lower barriers to apprenticeship adoption
  • Collaborate with DOL to amplify national RA marketing campaigns and promotional efforts
  • Track all outreach activities, employer engagement, and pipeline progress in Salesforce to measure impact and inform strategy
