About The Position

The College of Engineering Marketing and Communications team is looking to hire an intern for the Fall semester! Our dynamic team includes writers, editors, designers, and multimedia developers who share the stories of our college by translating cutting-edge technical, scientific, and engineering-based content into written and visual stories for a more general audience. We are looking for creative communicators to help us with a variety of writing and communications projects. Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University. Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Outstanding research and interviewing skills
  • Illustrate reliability, have the ability to work independently and have a sense of creativity
  • High School or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or working toward a degree
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered

  • Skills/experience with design, photography, HTML/CSS, and content management systems are a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Feature stories and other content for college and department websites
  • Assisting with the development and review of stories for our magazine and other print materials
  • Create social media content
  • Design and research projects
  • Documentation
  • Developing various materials
  • Editing and proofreading content
  • Conducting research and benchmarking
  • Other projects based on skills and interest
  • Other duties as assigned
