About The Position

Marketing and Business Development Manager Full-Time, Salaried Position, 40 hours/week in Ann Arbor, MI; 4 days in the office, 1 day hybrid, primarily 9-5, M-F Compensation: $65,000-$70,000 plus benefits Performance Expectations Leads ZingTrain’s sales and marketing efforts, developing and executing a content-rich, value-added strategy that is focused on maintaining and growing sales Collaborates with ZingTrain managing partners and Zingerman’s co-founder to establish ZingTrain’s voice and alignment on messaging Builds and optimizes repeatable, data-informed marketing systems to drive consistent and measurable growth Builds and deepens relationships with current and prospective ZingTrain clients, using every interaction to strengthen community and drive future sales. Responsible for developing ZingTrain’s annual Marketing Plan and (together with the rest of the ZingTrain team) for meeting ZingTrain’s annual Sales and Profit Goals

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing and executing marketing strategies that drive lead generation and revenue growth
  • Experience with marketing analytics and automation tools - required
  • Strong writing skills and a proven track record of generating compelling product copy and content on a timeline – required
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills - required
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills - required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - required
  • Proven examples of impeccable follow-through and effective communication with clients and co-workers – required
  • Proficiency with using Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Slides), Hubspot, Wordpress, Shopify, HTML (basic coding) - strongly preferred
  • High levels of energy and enthusiasm
  • Enjoys meeting, connecting, and talking with people
  • Is excited about selling!
  • Demonstrates an entrepreneurial and continuous improvement mindset
  • Prefers to work within a structure/plan but able to make on-the-spot changes as needed
  • Works well as a part of a team and is willing to switch between leading and following as needed

  • Operational experience in a Zingerman’s business - desirable

Responsibilities

  • Designs, documents, and manages marketing processes (campaign planning, execution, reporting) using repeatable frameworks
  • Increases ZingTrain’s lead magnets by growing ZingTrain’s e-news list, social followers, website visitors, and conversions
  • Researches and identifies target audiences, industries, and ideal customer profiles
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports on key performance indicators, both weekly and monthly
  • Builds and optimizes marketing workflows to improve lead nurturing, segmentation, and campaign automation
  • Communicates regularly with ZingTrain’s clients through a variety of media, including email, video, webinars, and LinkedIn
  • Creates accurate and compelling copy for ZingTrain product listings, e-newsletters, and client stories
  • Publicizes and promotes special ZingTrain events, including off-site workshops and book-signing events
  • Actively suggests and implements sales ideas in collaboration with trainers for ways we can connect with clients at a variety of points in their customer journey
  • Define the webinar strategy as a lead generator tool including ZingTrain’s monthly free webinars: recommending topics, coordinating presenters, collaborating on webinar slides, and facilitating the sessions with the intention of selling for the future
  • Regularly attends networking opportunities and suggests ways for ZingTrain to be involved in the community
  • Implements standard operating procedures (SOPs) for recurring marketing activities
  • Coordinates ZingTrain’s social media presence with members of the ZingTrain team
  • Provides great customer service to potential and existing clients and co-workers
  • Regularly updates ZingTrain’s website
  • Is an active member of the Zingerman’s Community of Businesses Marketing group, regularly collaborating with other Zingerman’s businesses
  • Participates in weekly huddles/meetings and owns at least one line on the ZingTrain Open Book Management scoreboard
  • Coordinates supplemental marketing efforts with Zingerman’s Creative Services and outside vendors, as needed
  • Along with all ZingTrain staff, answers ZingTrain phones and in-box inquiries, as needed
