Now hiring a Market Manager to join our S & C wine team team in Sun Valley, ID! General Statement of Duties This position functions under the general supervision of the General Manager , allowing latitude for independent direction in duties within their assigned region. The Market Manager position will assist with running the day-to-day business operations of the S & C Division. Duties will include, but are not limited to budgeting, staffing, sales, operations, and warehousing.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent industry experience; 10+ years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public
  • Valid Driver’s License, must have reliable transportation for daily use in sales calls and market reviews
  • Demonstrate proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
  • Demonstrate outstanding presentation and persuasive sales abilities
  • Demonstrate an exceptional ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external clients while providing high levels of service by communicating clear and timely responses to issues, requests, problems and regular reporting
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently while directing members of a team through communication and engagement in self-directed resourcefulness and analytical thinking.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively with others in person and by telephone
  • Sufficient visual and mental acuity which permits the employee to comprehend written work instructions and make determination of necessary actions to take to meet the presentation standards for the facility
  • Sufficient manual dexterity which permits the employee to operate standard office equipment
  • Sufficient body mobility, flexibility, and agility to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 60 pounds, Lift objects weighing up to 15 pounds overhead, and bend, twist, and torque on a regular basis
  • Standing / moving up to 3 hours at a time, push/ pull/ slide/ be able to walk up and down stairs
  • Must be able to drive multiple hours at a time with stops up to 35 times a day with travel from warehouse, office, outdoor and retail environments
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely and per state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in formulating and administering company policies, as well as directing and coordinating all activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives.
  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Confers with the General Manager and President to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from status and conditions.
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective management, communications, coaching, training and development.
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvement of issues and improved working relationships.
  • Develop, review, update and implement business strategic planning, including sales, financial performance, product-market execution and operational metrics.
  • Oversee sales, delivery, and warehouse (dependent on Division) operations to review sales, production and operating reports and resolve operational and facility problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays to meet future growth.
  • Reviews and supports sales to oversee design concepts with fundamental or new technology used for new or existing products or improvement to provide cost reduction, safety, customer requirements and market growth.
  • Reviews operations and plans to meet requirements for sales planning and to ascertain operational requirements to develop new brands, operational execution in market, and develop markets.
  • Manage inventory control processes with sales staff effectively
  • Participate in and conduct periodic training for Department employees on topics such as new policies, inventory cost management, product standards, or operational processes, and others
  • Perform regular 1:1s with direct reports, setting goals and identifying and managing KPIs
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner
