About The Position

You will join Eaton’s North American Sales organization as the Market Intelligence Manager, where you will play a critical role in shaping how the business understands market performance, industry trends, and external economic conditions. In this role, you will lead Eaton’s market intelligence and external market measurement capabilities, delivering trusted insights that inform strategic and operational decisions across sales, product management, finance, and senior leadership. This is a unique opportunity to serve as Eaton’s primary subject‑matter expert for externally governed market intelligence, including market share programs such as NEMA, Dell’Oro, and IDC, as well as construction and economic indicators from sources like Dodge Construction Network, Industrial Information Resources, and the Architecture Billings Index. You will combine deep analytical expertise with strong business acumen to ensure external data is accurately interpreted, appropriately governed, and translated into actionable insights through standardized reporting, Power BI dashboards, and self‑service analytics tools. As a managing expert individual contributor, you will own the end‑to‑end development, governance, and delivery of enterprise market intelligence assets used by a broad North American audience. You will work closely with analytics, IT, and data engineering teams to manage data models, reporting solutions, and data quality, while also partnering directly with business stakeholders to enable effective use of market intelligence in sales planning, forecasting, and competitive strategy. Your work will directly support Eaton’s commitment to data‑driven decision‑making by ensuring market insights are accurate, consistent, timely, and clearly communicated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business analytics, market intelligence, business intelligence and/or related analytical roles
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical industry
  • Relocation is not available. Candidates must currently reside within a 50 mile radius of an Eaton facility to be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business, Analytics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or a related field
  • Proficiency with relational data concepts and SQL
  • Experience working with complex, multi‑source datasets, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and working with external data sources
  • Broad working knowledge of Electrical Products, with emphasis on Control and Automation, Drives, Low Voltage Distribution Equipment, Switchgear, and Transformers

  • Demonstrated experience delivering analytical insights to sales, product management, finance, and strategy teams
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, particularly as it relates to product hierarchies and data structures

Responsibilities

  • Own Eaton’s Market Intelligence reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and biannual trade‑area views, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with disclosure and participation requirements.
  • Serve as Eaton’s primary subject‑matter expert for NEMA statistics programs, including reporting methodologies, participation changes, historical market context, and appropriate interpretation and use of results.
  • Represent Eaton in NEMA statistics committee meetings, advocating for Eaton’s interests and ensuring appropriate consideration of Eaton perspectives in all NEMA statistics‑related discussions and decisions.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise Power BI dashboards, including NEMA Market Share, Critical Solutions Market Share, Industrial Installed Base, and Electrical Sector economic analytics.
  • Manage and interpret external and internal market intelligence sources, including NEMA, Dodge Construction Network, the Architecture Billings Index, SAP, and other economic data services, providing guidance on proper usage, limitations, and business implications.
  • Translate external market and economic indicators into actionable insights that support sales planning, forecasting, and competitive strategy development.
  • Partner with analytics development and support, information technology, and data engineering teams to manage data models, report deployment, refresh processes, data quality resolution, and performance optimization.
  • Enable internal stakeholders through documentation and training, including SharePoint content, dashboard user guides, and data methodology explanations, to support effective adoption of self‑service analytics.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for market intelligence inquiries, providing data interpretation guidance and ad‑hoc analytical support to business partners and leadership.
  • Maintain governance and security controls for proprietary and competitively sensitive market share and external market intelligence data.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate and standardize reporting processes, improving efficiency, scalability, and sustainability of market intelligence deliverables.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all market share and external market intelligence reporting across the organization.
