Market Intelligence Relationship Manager

ConstructConnectCincinnati, OH
Hybrid

About The Position

This position is hybrid in Cincinnati, Ohio and sits within our Content division which identifies and publishes accurate and relevant project data for our software solutions. The Market Intelligence Relationship Manager serves as a senior-level ambassador between ConstructConnect and the construction industry's most influential project sources — including General Contractors, Architectural firms, and Owners with restricted project-sharing policies. This is a relationship-first, influence-driven role. The person in this position does not own these accounts from a reporting perspective but operates at a strategic level to open doors, build trust, and demonstrate the mutual value of partnering with ConstructConnect's Project Intelligence platform (CCPI). The goal is to convert high-value, historically resistant sources from "do not share" to engaged contributors — by meeting them where they are, understanding their concerns, and co-creating a value story that resonates.

Requirements

  • Exceptional relationship-building skills — able to establish credibility and trust with senior-level executives in the construction industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with executive-level presentations and platform demos
  • Proven ability to navigate complex objections with empathy, patience, and a consultative approach
  • Deep understanding of (or ability to quickly learn) the construction project lifecycle — from design through general contracting and development
  • Familiarity with ConstructConnect's platform and data ecosystem (CCPI) preferred; willingness to become a product expert is required
  • Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally in a matrixed organization
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to prioritize high-impact opportunities across a large portfolio
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with skeptical or resistant stakeholders and converting them to engaged partners

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with consultative selling frameworks or value proposition development is a strong plus
  • Prior experience in a reporting, editorial, or market intelligence role is a significant asset for this position

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Development & Engagement
  • Identify, prioritize, and cultivate relationships with GC and Architectural firms nationally, as well as Owners currently operating under do-not-share policies
  • Conduct live platform demonstrations of CCPI to showcase the value of ConstructConnect as an industry resource — not just a data collector
  • Build trust with decision-makers (VPs, Directors of Preconstruction, Marketing, Business Development) by acting as a knowledgeable peer and industry thought partner, not a salesperson
  • Objection Handling & Value Proposition Development
  • Develop and refine tailored value proposition messaging for each source segment (GC, A/E, Owners)
  • Proactively address concerns around data privacy, competitive sensitivity, and reciprocal value
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to build and iterate on objection-handling frameworks based on real-world feedback from the field
  • Champion the "share and benefit" story — helping sources understand how contributing data yields actionable market intelligence in return
  • Strategic Outreach & Pipeline Management
  • Maintain a prioritized, living target list of high-value sources nationally, with current status, engagement history, and next steps
  • Track and report on outreach activity, engagement rates, and conversion milestones (from "do not share" to active contributor)
  • Coordinate with Content to ensure seamless source and project handoffs once a relationship is established
  • When applicable, represent ConstructConnect at industry events to build visibility and rapport with target source segments
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with the Content, Product, and Sales teams to ensure source feedback informs platform improvements and value proposition evolution
  • Work with Marketing to develop leave-behind materials and resources that support source engagement
  • Collaborate with Content to share intel on source concerns and best practices for building lasting relationships
  • Contribute to the development of a scalable national source engagement mode.
  • Industry Intelligence & Thought Leadership
  • Stay current on construction industry trends and competitive landscape to engage sources as a credible industry expert
  • Identify patterns in source resistance and surface insights that can influence ConstructConnect's broader content strategy
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing — training materials, playbooks, and talk tracks — so relationship-building best practices scale across the team
