About The Position

Summary The Market Growth Leader for Life & Annuity provides enterprise-level leadership across corporate functions, business lines, and regional delivery teams to accelerate growth in L&A software and business process services (BPS). This leader owns market strategy, portfolio positioning, go‑to‑market execution, sales enablement, and cross-functional alignment—serving as the connective tissue between Product/Engineering, BPS Operations, Sales, Delivery, and Marketing. The role combines strategic planning, thought leadership, client-facing engagement, and operational rigor to drive net new ARR, renewals, and profitable expansion across the L&A value chain. Essential Job Functions 1) Strategy & Leadership Define and lead the long‑term growth strategy for L&A software and BPS, ensuring alignment across corporate functions, business lines, and geographic delivery organizations. Provide direct leadership and guidance to senior leaders across Product, BPS, Sales, Delivery, and Marketing; foster a high‑performance culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Champion technology adoption (AI, analytics, automation, cloud) to improve competitiveness, speed-to-value, and client outcomes. 2) Market & Portfolio Positioning (L&A Admin & Surround) Own market positioning and narrative for L&A policy administration and surround capabilities (e.g., new business, underwriting, claims, distribution, billing, data & analytics). Lead portfolio strategy across software and BPS, including AI-enabled surround solutions that enhance operational efficiency and differentiation. Inform product roadmaps via market and client insights; ensure offerings address current and emerging L&A needs. 3) Go‑to‑Market & Sales Enablement Design and execute go‑to‑market strategies, value propositions, pricing/packaging, and ecosystem positioning for L&A solutions. Equip field teams with sales playbooks, competitive battlecards, demos, reference architectures, use cases, and ROI/total economic impact models. Co-develop executive-ready pitches and strategic proposals for priority accounts; support pursuit strategy and deal shaping. 4) Thought Leadership & Market Intelligence Produce thought leadership and executive narratives on market trends, growth themes (e.g., product modernization, digital distribution, claims transformation), and regulatory developments. Track L&A market dynamics, competitor moves, regulatory shifts, and M&A to inform investment priorities and portfolio bets. Lead analyst engagement and customer communities (Product Advisory Groups, User Groups, Customer Advisory Councils) to build market visibility and credibility. 5) Client & Partner Engagement Serve as an executive sponsor for strategic clients; influence C‑suite agendas and co-create transformation roadmaps. Build and manage strategic partnerships (technology alliances, data/AI partners, system integrators) that extend solution value and reach. Ensure exceptional client satisfaction, measurable outcomes, and reference ability. 6) Financial Management & Risk Own growth and profitability objectives for the L&A portfolio; oversee planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation. Establish and track KPIs (ARR, bookings, pipeline velocity, win rates, gross margin, retention/renewals). Identify and mitigate business risks; ensure regulatory and contractual compliance across offerings and geographies. 7) Integration, M&A, and International Expansion Identify and assess inorganic growth levers (M&A, partnerships); lead diligence and post‑merger integration for portfolio fit, synergies, and go-to-market acceleration. Develop international market-entry strategies, including localization, channel/partner models, and regional growth plans. 8) Cross‑Functional Program Leadership Drive complex, global initiatives across business units and regions; establish governance, OKRs, and operating cadences. Provide work direction and mentorship to emerging leaders and cross-functional teams, scale best practices and repeatable plays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Finance, Technology, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in strategy, product/portfolio leadership, P&L ownership, or commercial leadership—including 4+ years leading growth initiatives for enterprise software and/or BPS.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, market development, team leadership, financial analysis, and executive stakeholder engagement.
  • Continuous learner who stays current on insurance industry trends and enabling technologies (AI/ML, data analytics, cloud, API ecosystems, automation).

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Background in Life & Annuity (preferred), with familiarity across insurance operations, economics, and value drivers; knowledge of adjacent markets (P&C, Reinsurance, Distribution) a plus.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to interpret and communicate performance metrics and business cases.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to distill complex topics into executive-ready insights and narratives.
  • Experience working in matrixed, global environments; low‑ego, team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable.
  • Willingness to travel for internal and client-facing engagements.
  • Additional language fluency beyond English is a plus.
