Duties, Responsibilities & Other KCI Technologies is hiring a Marine Structural Engineer-in-Training to join our team in New York, NY. This opportunity is intended for Spring 2026 graduates, with the position starting in Summer 2026. Performs work that involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures or equipment. Assignments include but are not limited to: design and development, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in a specific, narrow area of assignments. Works collaboratively with internal and external partners on multidisciplinary design/engineering projects. Coordinates the work of Engineers and others who may assist on specific assignments, as required. Reviews input from Project or Technical Managers and makes the necessary adjustments and corrections to work product. Performs work in a timely and effective manner within assigned schedules and budgets. Experience on all phases of design as well as provided construction administration/bid phase services is preferred Field experience and ability to work with clients, contractors, and other disciplines is preferred not required EIT is preferred. Ability to get in 1 year is required. Multi-tasker with ability to perform structural design and development of construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel structures.

Requirements

  • 0-2 Years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program
  • General knowledge of required design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to maintain required certifications.
  • Ability to get EIT in 1 year is required.
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on all phases of design as well as provided construction administration/bid phase services is preferred
  • Field experience and ability to work with clients, contractors, and other disciplines is preferred not required
  • EIT is preferred.
  • Previous internships or work experience in the Engineering field.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
